Good morning everyone,
I am Lai Chun Yin from 4D. Today, I am going to share a book called Tuesday with Morrie written by Mitch Albom .
This is a story about Mitch and his professor Morrie who knew that Morrie was facing the end of his life due to a disease. Morrie was originally a very optimistic and passionate Jewish who loved to dance, but illness gradually robbed him of various abilities. He began to lose the ability to walk and to control his bodily functions. Then he could no longer move his hands, breathing and swallowing became difficult, making it hard for him to eat. He decided to visit Morrie every Tuesday. It felt like a lesson in life until the professor passed away.
In this book, Morrie shares deep insights about life—the values of relationships. Morrie believes that love and friendship are the most important things in life. He tells Mitch that true happiness comes from connecting with others, not from the pursuit of material wealth.
After reading this book, we can’t help but reflect on our own lives and ask ourselves, “What are we really pursuing?” This book reminds us that every day is precious, and we should live our life to the fullest and cherish our relationships with others.
Sometimes, we are very much like the protagonist Mitch, caught up in work and other trivial matters, filling our schedules to the brim in pursuit of insatiable material desires. We have time to listen to clients and friends, yet we fail to truly hear the voice within ourselves. We spend time aimlessly browsing the Internet, and replying to comments on Instagram and Facebook, but we don’t leave time for our loved ones.
Thanks to the inspiring book, I can understand myself and the genuine meaning of life. Let’s stop chasing something nonsense but have a second thought about our life goal. Otherwise, we will regret for the whole life.
That’s all I want to share today. Thank you.
